Disinfectants contain a number of volitile chemicals that are dangerous to inhale. The ingredient most frequently found in disinfectants is cresol, a chemical easily absorbed through the skin and througg the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
Cresolcan cause damage to the liver, kidneys, lungs, pancreas, and spleen and can also affect the central nervous system, resulting in suck common symptoms as depression, irritability, and hyperactivity.
Experts warn that there is danger of poisoning by both ingestion and inhalation. Disinfectants pose a hazrd even in their closed containers, since vapors can leak out and build up to high levels in closed rooms.

Did you know that on the back of many dish detergents it says, "DO NOT MIX WITH BLEACH". This indicates there is ammonia in them. therefore, every time you stand over your dishwasher washing dishes you are inhaling ammonia.
